Mallorca era, es y será un paraíso natural. Antaño, rural y de artesanos, cuyo comercio impulsaba ascensos sociales. Palma vivía dentro de la muralla hoy amputada. La filoxera, la pérdida de las colonias, la huida de miles de mallorquines a mundos mejores. Pero también, la llegada de visitantes ilustrados, que inician la trayectoria de la “industria de los visitantes”. El mar, la costa, el campo, nuestra forma de ser y recibir, el cosmopolitismo. Un pasado histórico que marca un futuro esperanzador.

Mallorca was, is and will continue to be a natural paradise. Originally a land of country folk and craftsmen, its flourishing trade brought prosperity and social stature. Palma lived enclosed within the walls that today have been torn down. Phylloxera, the loss of the colonies, the diaspora of thousands of Majorca’s people in search of a better life. Yet also the arrival of enlightened visitors, who brought the ‘Visitor Industry’ to the island. The sea, the coast and countryside, our warm hospitality and character, our cosmopolitan nature. A rich past that has laid the foundations for a hopeful future.

Mallorca war, ist und wird immer ein Naturparadies sein. Früher war die Insel ländlich und der Handel mit dem Kunsthandwerk förderte den gesellschaftlichen Aufstieg. Palma lebte innerhalb der heute unvollständigen Stadtmauer. Die Reblaus, der Verlust der Kolonien, die Flucht von Tausenden von Mallorquinern in eine bessere Welt. Aber dann änderten sich die Zeiten und es kamen illustre Gäste, die den Werdegang der „Besucherindustrie“ einleiteten. Das Meer, die Küste, die Felder, unser Wesen und unsere Gastfreundschaft, der Kosmopolitismus. Eine historische Vergangenheit, die eine hoffnungsvolle Zukunft prägt.

Мальорка была, есть и будет настоящим природным раем. В былые времена она славилась своим сельским хозяйством и народными промыслами, способствовавшими социальному подъему. И город Пальма был обнесен раньше крепостными стенами, ныне уже не существующими. В истории острова были нашествие виноградной тли, потеря колониальных владений, эмиграция тысяч мальоркинцев в поисках лучшей жизни. Однако одновременно с этим сюда прибывали высокообразованные люди, ставшие у истоков «индустрии гостеприимства». Море, побережье, сельская местность, наш стиль жизни и приема гостей, космополитизм. Историческое прошлое, определившее будущее, полное надежд.
