Somos gente de mar

​

La mar lo es todo. Establece las reglas de nuestro clima y forja nuestra identidad cultural. Lo miramos de tú a tú, entendemos sus cambios de humor, lo amamos y respetamos, y él se nos ofrece en toda su inmensidad para que lo disfrutemos. Nuestra visión de la mar entronca con la famosa frase atribuida a Plutarco: “Navegar es necesario, vivir no lo es”. Porque vivir en Mallorca nos convierte a la fuerza en “gente de mar”, en unos verdaderos privilegiados.

 A seafaring people

 

The sea is everything. It lays down the rules that dictate our climate and shapes and moulds our cultural identity. We look it straight in the eye, are sensitive to its changing moods, love and respect it, and in return it offers up its vastness for our recreation and enjoyment. Our vision of the sea stems from the famous quote attributed to Plutarch, “To navigate is necessary, to live is not”.  Because living in Majorca inevitably makes us a ‘seafaring’ and truly privileged people.

Wir sind Seeleute

 

Das Meer ist alles für uns. Es bestimmt die Regeln unseres Klimas und prägt unsere kulturelle Identität. Wir stehen ihm ausgesprochen nahe, verstehen seine Launen, wir lieben und respektieren es, und das Meer seinerseits bietet sich uns in all seiner Größe dar, damit wir es genießen. Unsere Einstellung zum Meer lässt sich mit dem berühmten Ausspruch Plutarchs zusammenfassen: “Dass wir segeln, ist notwendig, dass wir leben, ist nicht notwendig“. Denn alle, die auf Mallorca leben, werden automatisch zu “Seeleuten“, zu wirklichen Privilegierten.

Мы неразрывно связаны с морем

 

Море для нас - это все. Оно влияет на наш климат и формирует наши культурные ценности. Мы с ним давно перешли на «ты» и научились понимать перепады его настроения, мы любим и уважаем его, а оно открывает перед нами свои бескрайние просторы, чтобы мы могли в полной мере насладиться ими. Наш взгляд на море отражен в известном высказывании, приписываемом Плутарху: «Мореплавание, в отличие от жизни, является необходимостью». Ведь жизнь на Мальорке непроизвольно связывает нас с морем, давая нам особые привилегии.

Мой каприз - провести ночь в отеле, сделанном изо льда.
